Can I serve refrigerated meat products after the expiration date?

Products should be used or frozen by the "Use By" or "Freeze By" date printed on the product. You can safely refrigerate the meat products until the "Enjoy By", "Use By", or "Freeze By" date as long as the package is unopened. Once the package is opened, the general rule is to keep the product refrigerated and use within three to five days.

I thawed my LLOYD'S® Tub, but was unable to use it. Can I freeze the tub again?

The ribs are pink inside. Is the meat under cooked?

The pink color in the ribs is not an indication that the meat is undercooked. In the smoking process the meat develops what is called a 'smoke ring,' which is the light pink colored portion of the rib. This is the same phenomenon you see in ham products.

LLOYD'S® Tubs and Ribs are fully cooked products, ready to heat and eat.

OR

To prepare tender, restaurant style ribs in a conventional oven (where the meat falls off the bone!):

  1. Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove ribs from package and place on sheet of heavy-duty* aluminum foil large enough to extend 3 to 4 inches beyond each end of ribs. Spread all the sauce over ribs, or save for later.
  2. Spoon 3 tablespoons water over ribs. Wrap foil tightly around ribs.
  3. Place foil-packed ribs in baking pan. Heat 1 hour 30 minutes (refrigerated or frozen).

Open carefully - HOT STEAM will escape.

*You can use two sheets of regular aluminum foil placed on top of each other instead of the heavy-duty aluminum foil.

How do I prepare LLOYD'S® Tubs?

Tub products can be heated in the microwave directly in the tub or transferred to a pan and heated on the stovetop. We do not recommend the consumer re-use the microwave container. It is designed for single use, not for repeated uses.
